BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs MST today, the Severe Tropical Strom“Talim” over the South China Sea is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and it may further intensify into a Typhoon“Talim” during next (12)hours.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 17th July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40) mph. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (7-9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
