SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.43) inches in Mogoke, (4.90) inches in Bogale, (4.57) inches in Mogaung, (3.15) inches in Kyaiklat, (2.72) inches in Kungyangon, (2.64) inches in Heho, (2.40) inches in Dawei, (2.32) inches in Machanbaw, (2.20) inches in Mawlamyinegyun, (2.01) inches in Launglon, (1.81) inches in Phyu and (1.73) inches in Kanbalu.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 03rd July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Bago Regions and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States.
