SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (6.26) inches in Pyinoolwin, (4.80) inches in Kyeikkhame, (3.86) inches in Taungkok, (3.15) inches in Machanbaw, (3.07) inches in Sittwe, (2.88) inches in Bago, (2.68) inches in Kyauktaw, (2.48) inches in Naypyitaw(Zeyarthiri), (2.44) inches in Minesat and (2.40) inches each in Pyinmana(Walgyi), Maungdaw, Thandwe and Yangon(Mayangon).
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Odisha – West Bengal Coasts(India) still persists. It is likely to move West- Northwestwards during next (72) hours. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th June, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions, scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30 - 35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (5-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate monsoon.
