SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.43) inches in Sittwe, (4.46) inches in Kyaukpyu, (3.66) inches in Kyeikkhame, (3.44) inches in Pon Na Gyun, (2.58) inches in Mye Bon, (2.56) inches in Mudon, (2.48) inches in Mawlamyine, (2.08) inches in Kawkareik, (2.05) inches in Ein Me and (2.00) inches each in Thabaung and Minbya.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd June, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Kachin, Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) mph. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and (4-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
