23-11-2024: Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal, partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and  Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours,

weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain have been scattered in Mandalay

and Magway Regions, Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Yangon

Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in

Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region,

Kachin and  Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Yangon (Mingaladon)

(7.64)inches, Langlone (6.65) inches, Phyarpon  (5.82) inches, Kyauktaw (5.63) inches, Sittwe

(5.59) inches, Maubin (4.49)inches, Dawei (4.37)inches, Putao (3.86)inches, Myauk U  

(3.82)inches and Yay (3.39)inches.  

 BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea and South Bay

and strong elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the

tropical storm (Kujira) over Gulf of Tonkin (South China sea) is centered at about

(180)miles of Hanoi (Vietnam). It is forecast to move West wards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 24th June, 2015: Rain will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine and Mon States, isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate to strong elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in the Coastal areas.
