SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, southwest monsoon has advanced into the Central Myanmar areas, Eastcentral Bay and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State and rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Regoin and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.53) inches in Mudon, (3.90) inches in Kawthaung, (3.76) inches in Patheingyi, (3.27) inches in Chaungsone, (3.23) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (3.03) inches in Kyeikkhame, (2.87) inches in Paung, (2.76) inches in Phyarpon, (2.40) inches in Gwa, (2.13) inches in Belin and (2.05) inches in YeU.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea, South Bay, Eastcentral Bay and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
Special Feature Condition: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure cell over Northeast and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal still persists.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 09th June, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in the Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
