SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into the Deltaic Myanmar areas and Southwest Bay of Bengal. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State, fairly widespread in Chin, Rakhine, Kayin States, scattered in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon Regions and Eastern Shan State with isolated heavyfalls in Chin State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) above May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Southern Shan, Chin, Kayah States and (2°C) above May average temperatures in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (42°C) each in Hkamti, Tamu, Myinmu and Chauk and (41°C) each in Myitkyina, Kalewa, Myingyan and Hpasaung. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (3.78) inches in Tiddim, (2.95) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, (2.20) inches in Labutta, (1.93) inches in Taungkok, (1.30) inches in Kawkareik, (1.14) inches in Kawthaung, (1.02) inches in Chauk and (0.75) inch each in Ye and Mudon.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the Typhoon “Mawar” over Philippines Sea has moved Northwards. It is likely forecast to move North-Northeastwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st June, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon Regions and Southern Shan, Chin States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35)mph. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of thundery activities in the Central Myanmar areas.
