SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, southwest monsoon has advanced into the Southern Myanmar areas, Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern) Shan, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Chin, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State and (2°C) above May average temperatures in Mandalay, Yangon Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin States and (3°C) below May average temperature in Kachin State and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk, (42°C) in Myinmu and (40°C) each in Nyaung Oo, Minbu, Magway and Gangaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.73) inches in Laiway, (1.69) inches in Manaung, (1.61) inches in Kyeikkhame, (1.50) inches in Machanbaw, (1.34) inches in Ye and (1.18) inches in Taunggu.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy over the Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Chin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayin States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Rakhine States and  isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are starting over the Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Southern)Shan, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Yangon Regions.
