SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Sagaing Region and Southern Shan,Chin, Mon States, scattered in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan, Kayin States and isolated in the Remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Mon States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Kayah, Kayin States and (2°C) below May average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and about May average temperatures in the Remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (38°C) each in Nyaung Oo, Tada U(Aviation), Chauk, Magway, Taungdwingyi and Hpasaung. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.48) inches in Shan Ywar Thit, (0.79) inch in Tamu, (0.59) inch in Ye, (0.55) inch in Myittha, (0.51) inch each in Tiddim and Kawkareik, (0.47) inch in Hpa-an, (0.40) inch in Sittwe and (0.35) inch in Pyinoolwin.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Mon States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States and isolated in the Remaining Regions and States. STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
