BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (04:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” over Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved Nearly Northwards. It is centered at about (320) Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island, (415) Nautical miles Southwest of Hainggyigyun, (520) Nautical miles South- Southwest of Sittwe, (290) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Port Blair (India) and (565) Nautical miles South-South-Southwest of Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh). Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 12th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (8-13) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Rakhine States.
