BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal moved Northwestward and still persist. It is centered at about (410) Nautical miles South-Southwest of CoCo Island, (530) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Heinggyigyun, (710) Nautical miles South- Southwest of Sittwe, (310) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Nicobar Islands (India), (280) Nautical miles Southwest of Port-Blair(India) and (770) Nautical miles Southwest of Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh). Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 10th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Yangon Region and Northern Shan, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40) mph. Sea will be moderate to  rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and scattered to fairly widespread in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 10th May, 2023:          Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (80%).
