SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (5°C) below January average temperature in Eastern Shan State, (3°C) below January average temperatures in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan State and (2°C) below January average temperatures in Bago Region and Kayin State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (0°C) each in Namsam, Mongyang and Hakha, (1°C) in Heho, (2°C) in Loilin and (3°C) in Kyaukmae.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th January, 2023: Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-6) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State.
