SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Northern Shan State and isolated in Mandalay Region and Southern Shan State. Weather have been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below December average temperature in Taninthayi Region and (2°C) below December average temperatures in Yangon Region and Eastern Shan State, (2°C) above December average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Rakhine States and (5°C) above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Southern Shan State and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (5°C) each in Hakha and Tiddim, (7°C) in Falam and (8°C) in Namsam. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.12) inch in Lunkyaw and (0.04) inch in Lashio.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean still persists. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th December, 2022: Light rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Mandalay Region and Shan States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with rough seas are likely at time in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (35-40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Slight decrease of night temperatures in Eastern Myanmar Areas.
