SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been isolated in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States. Weather have been generally fair in Chin, Kayin States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below December average temperature in Chin State and (2°C) above December average temperatures in Magway Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah States, (6°C) above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw and Mon State, (7°C) above December average temperature in Northern Shan State and about December average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions. The significant night temperatures were (2°C) in Hakha, (4°C) in Tiddim and (7°C) each in Namsam, Falam and Homalin. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.16) inch in Mogoke and (0.04) inch in Kawthaung.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean still persists. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th December, 2022: Light rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with rough seas are likely at time in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (35-40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Eastern Myanmar Areas.
