BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “SITRANG” over North Bay of Bengalhas moved North-Northeastwards and centered at about (270) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Thandwe, (170) Nautical miles West of Sittwe, (145) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Maungdaw (Myanmar), (130) Nautical miles Southeast of Sagar Island (India) and (145) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Barisal(Bangladesh).Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL AFTERNOON OF THE 25th October, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Nothern Shan, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Upper Saging, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Ayayarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Frequently squall with very rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (60-65) mph. Occasional squall with rough seas are likely at time Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Wave height will be about (14-18) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts and (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: likelihood of fairly widespread to widespread rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Nothern Shan States.
