SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Chin State, isolated in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Taninthayi Regions andKachin,Rakhine States. Weather has beenpartly cloudyin the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (1.78) inches in Kawthaung, (1.62) inches in Hakha, (0.75) inch inMyauk U and (0.16) inch each in Matupi and Tongzan.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining the Southeast Bay of Bengal around (22.10.2022) and into a Deep Depression on (23.10.2022). It is recurveNorthwards and intensify intoa Cyclonic Stormover Westcentraland EastcentralBay of Bengal around (24.10.2022). It is likely to move North-Northeastwards and reach West Bengal, (India)-Bangladesh Coasts on (25.10.2022).Weather cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm “Nesat” over the South China Sea has weakened into Tropical Depression. It is centered at about (85)nautical miles East-Northeast of Dong Hoi, Vietnam. It is likely to move Westwards and will cross upper Vietnam coast around morning of (21.10.2022).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21stOctober, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread inChin State, scattered in TaninthayiRegionand isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region.Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35- 40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Increase of rain in Lower Myanmar areas.
