SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (6.54) inches in Ye, (5.47) inches in Chaungsone, (4.61) inches in Paung, (4.21) inches in Labutta, (4.06) inches in Kyeikkhame, (3.66) inches in Thaton, (3.50) inches in Mudon, (3.12) inches in Mawlamyinekyun, (2.72) inches in Hainggyigyun, (2.60) inches in Belin, (2.36) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (2.32) inches in Ngathaichaung, (2.20) inches in Mawlaik and (2.17) inches in Hpa-an.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to Odisha Coast(India) and intensify during next (24) hours. Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th September, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Chin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine, Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and about (5-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States.
