SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.17) inches in Coco-Island, (4.68) inches in Pauktaw, (4.44) inches in Sittwe, (4.17) inches in Hainggyigyun, (3.20) inches in Htilin, (2.72) inches in Paung, (2.64) inches in Kawthaung, (2.60) inches in Pinlaung, (2.44) inches in Kyaukpyu, (2.09) inches in Saw, (1.89) inches in Thandwe, (1.74) inches in Rambree and (1.69) inches each in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), Kyaukhtu and Kungyangon.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th August, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine State.
