SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Northern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.99) inches in Belin, (2.83) inches in Machambaw, (2.74) inches in Buthetaung, (2.61) inches in Thaton, (2.04) inches in Khayan, (1.93) inches in Launglon, (1.69) inches each in Maungdaw and Hmawbi (Agro-Met), (1.65) inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), (1.62) inches in Putao, (1.57) inches each in Shan-Ywar-Thit and Paung, (1.54) inches in Paletwa and (1.50)inches in Rambree.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over the South Jharkhand and adjoining North Odisha still persists. It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and will cross Jharkhand and North Chhattisgarh and then towards North Madhya Pradesh during next (24) hrs and weaken gradually. Monsoon is moderate to strong over Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st August, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Shan, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
