BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (16:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the North Bay of Bengal has moved Northwest wards and intensified into a Deep Depression. It is centered at about (220) Nautical miles West of Maungdaw, (255) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), (90) Nautical miles East- Southeast of Balasore, (60) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Digha, (35) Nautical miles Southeast of Sagar Island (India).Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th August, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions, Kachin, (Northern and Southern) Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall with rough seas may be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40)mph. Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35)mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet in Gulf of Mottama, Deltaic,off and along Rakhine Coasts and (7-9) feet in off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
