SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours,rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway, AyeyarwadyRegions and RakhineState and isolated heavyfalls inMandalay Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were(7.91) inchesinManaung, (5.55) inchesin Ngapudaw, (5.00)inches in Gwa, (4.92) inches inNyaungtone, (4.58) inches in Danubyu,(3.98) inchesin Kya-In-Seikkyi, (3.94) inches in Thandwe,(3.10) inches inKangyidaung,(3.07) inches in Pantanaw, (2.95)inches in Kyaunggon, (2.91) inches in Pathein, (2.90)inches in LeMyethna and (2.84) inches in Thabaung.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observation at (13:30)hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Eastcentral Bay and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal, Northern part of Rakhine coaststill persists. It is likely to move Northwest wards and become Well marked low pressure area during next (6)hrs and concentrate into a Depression during next (24)hrs. It is likely to move West-Northwest wardsand may cross West Bengal and North Odisha(India). Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea andBay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19thAugust, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will bescattered in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, MandalayRegions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls inUpper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, TaninthayiRegions and Chin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Increase of rain in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
