SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in

Naypyitaw, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Mon State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and (Southern and Easten ) Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (3.15) inches in Myaungdaw, (2.52) inches in Kyaukpyu, (2.32)inches in Hpa-an(Agro), (2.24) inches in Coco-Island, (2.15) inches in Kangyidaung, (2.13) inches in Wakema, (2.04) inches in Myebon, (2.02) inches in Ponnagyun, (1.97) inches in Pauktaw, (1.93) inches in Myaungmya, (1.88) inches in Rathedaung and (1.78) inches in Minbya.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal (off North Odisha and West Bengal coasts) has slightly moved to West-Northwestwards and intensified into a Depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and North Odisha coasts. It is centered at about (260) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Maungdaw, (300) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe(Myanmar), (15) Nautical miles East- Northeast of Digha and (50) Nautical miles East- Northeast of Balasore(India). Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and strong over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th August, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (6-8) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate monsoon.
