SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.16) inches in Kyeikdon, (2.56) inches in Bhamo, (2.52) inches in Kyeikkhame, (2.24) inches in Paung, (2.12) inches in Chaungsone, (2.00) inches in Coco Island, (1.50) inches each in Katha and Mawlamyine and (1.34) inches in Hlegu.  

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the low pressure area over North Odisha Coast and West Bengal Coast(India) now lies over North Odisha still persists. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th July, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
