SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Southern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon Regions and (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mon State. Day temperatures were (2°C) above May average temperature in Eastern Shan State and (3°C) below May average temperature in Kayin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (40°C) in Chauk, (38°C) each in Minbu, Magway, Gangaw and Bawlakhae and (37°C) in Myinmu. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (3.54) inches in Belin, (2.91) inches in Myitkyina, (1.92) inches in Thandwe, (1.65) inches in Mudon, (1.62) inches each in Ye and Kyeikkhame, (1.46) inches each in Kyaukpyu and Manaung, (1.34) inches in Taungkok, (1.23) inches each in Chaungsone and Myeik and (1.18) inches in Kyeikmayaw.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate over theEastcentral Bay and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
