SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in NorthernShan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon Regionsandisolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperatures in Kachin State, (2°C) above May average temperature in Northern Shan State and (2°C) below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States, (4°C) below May average temperature in Kayah State, (5°C) to (6°C)below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago Regions and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (37°C) each in Bhamo, Thipaw, Tamu, Monywa and Myinmu. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (3.86) inches in Yangon(Kaba-Aye), (3.74) inches in Kani, (3.23) inches in Launglon, (3.15) inches in Yangon(North Dagon), (2.46) inches in Kyaukpadaung, (2.28) inches in Ta Gaung, (2.09) inches in Gwa,(2.05) inches in Thandwe, (1.93) inches each in Saw and Kyauktaw and (1.87) inches in Nyaungtone.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudyelsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA:Squall with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
