SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours,Southwest monsoon has advanced over the Deltaic Myanmar areas, Southwest Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated inMandalay and MagwayRegions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and NorthernShan State, fairly widespread in UpperSagaing, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine and KayahStates and widespread inthe remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in TaninthayiRegion and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine, Mon States. Day temperatureswere(2°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway Regions and Rakhine, Kayah States and(2°C) belowMay average temperatures in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State and about May average temperaturesin the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were(40°C)each in Vaar and Chauk and(39°C) inTaungdwingyi.The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.45) inchesin Launglon, (4.21) inches in Dawei, (4.05) inches in Ye, (3.31) inches in Gwa,(3.27) inches in Myaungmya, (2.95) inches each in Yangon(Central) and Hainggyikyun, (2.80) inches in Pathein, (2.64) inches in Kyeikkhame, (2.52) inches in Mawlamyine, (2.28) inches in Yangon(Kaba-Aye), (2.24) inches in Labutta and (2.01) inches each in Maubin and Myeik.

BAY INFERENCE:According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over North Andaman Sea (off Gulf of Martaban) has intensified into a Depression. It is centered at about (15) Nautical miles Southwest of Bilu Island, (25) Nautical miles Southwest of Mawlamyine, (25) Nautical miles South- Southwest of Paung,, (45) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Thaton, Mon State, (50) Nautical miles Southeast of Thongwa, (60) Nautical miles Southeast of Thongwa, Yangon Region (Myanmar).Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and EastcentralBay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudyelsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE21stMay, 2022:Rain or thundershowers will bescattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, RakhineStates and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Kayin, Mon States andisolated heavyfalls in RakhineState.Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Occasional squall with rough to very rough seas are likely to be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (45) mph. Squall with moderate to rough seasare likely at times elsewhere in Myanmar waters.Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph.Wave height will be about (9-14) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts and (8-10) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Continuations of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
