BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over North Andaman Sea (Gulf of Martaban) still persists. It is likely to intensify and move Northeastwards. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 20th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA:Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
