SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Northern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Day temperatures were (2°C) above May average temperatures in Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah States and (2°C) below May average temperature in Eastern Shan State, (3°C) below May average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (40°C) in Chauk and (39°C) each in Gangaw and Bawlakhae and (38°C) each in Taungdwingyi, Sinbyugyun, Nyaunglaybin and Hpasaung. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.84) inches in Launglon, (3.23) inches in Dawei, (3.00) inches in Coco Island, (2.17) inches in Kalay, (1.98) inches each in Kya-In-Seikkyi and Ye, (1.85) inches in Ngathaichaung, (1.77) inches in Myeik, (1.73) inches in Mingin and (1.45) inches in PaingKyone.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudyover the Eastcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Northern)Shan, Chin States and fairly widespread in (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Mon State and  isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region and Kayin State.Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Kayin, Mon States.
