SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather will be partly cloudy in Taninthayi Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mon State, scattered in Bago Region, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, MagwayRegions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay and Magway Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. Day temperatures were (2°C) above May average temperatures in Kachin, Rakhine, Mon States, (2°C) below May average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Chin State, (3°C) to (4°C) below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw,Lower Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State, (5°C) to (6°C) below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan,Kayah States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (39°C) in Bawlakhae and (38°C) each in Magway, Zaung Tu and Shwekyin. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.81) inchesin Shwegu, (2.72) inches in Hlaingtat, (2.40) inches in Saw, (2.13) inches in Kyauktaw, (1.82) inches in Pyay, (1.73) inches in Pyinoolwin, (1.65) inches in Homalin, (1.60) inches in Maungdaw, (1.54) inches each in Magway, Myaungmya and Thazi and (1.50) inches in Naypyitaw (Dekkhinathiri).
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “Asani” over West Central Bay and adjoining South Bay of Bengalhas moved West-Northwestwards and centered at about (435) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Port Blair, (255) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Vishakhapatnam, (335) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puri (India), (440) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Coco-Island and (510) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar).Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State.Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA:Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
