SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Southern Shan, Chin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State and scattered in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (4°C) above May average temperature in Kachin State, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States and(2°C) below May average temperature in KayahState and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (41°C) each in Chauk and ZaungTu and (40°C) each in Myinmu, Taungdwingyi and Kyauktaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.54) inches in Matupi, (1.34) inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), (1.30) inches in Paung, (1.26) inches in Kyaukmae, (1.22) inches in Kungyangon, (1.18) inches in Namsam and (0.98) inch each in Tatkon, Gyobingauk and Hmawbi(Agro).
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, a Cyclonic Storm “Asani” over Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It iscentered at about (225) Nautical miles West of Port Blair, (495) Nautical miles Southeast of Vishakhapatnam, (525) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puri, (India), (305) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island and (415) Nautical miles Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar). Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 09th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State.Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA:Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
