BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal during next (6) hours and into a Cyclonic Storm over the East Central Bay of Bengal in the evening of (8.5.2022). It is forecast continuous to move Northwestwards and reach to West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal (off north Andhra­-PradeshOdisha coasts, India) around (10.5.2022) and recurve to North-Northeastwards and reach to Northwest Bay of Bengal (off Odisha coast, India). Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 08th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Bago Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States.Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Mandalay,Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
