SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw and Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Eastern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and Southern Shan, Chin States, scattered in Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperature in Mon State and (2°C) above May average temperature in KayinState, (2°C) below May average temperatures in Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, (3°C) to (4°C) below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah States, (6°C) below May average temperatures in Mandalay Region and Eastern Shan State, (8°C) below May average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (39°C) each in Ann, Hpa-an andTheinzayet. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.32) inches in Myaungmya, (2.79) inches in Hmawbi, (1.85) inches in Zalun, (1.49) inches in Pathein, (1.22) inches each in ZaungTu and Myeik, (1.18) inches in Hakha and (0.91) inch in Namsam.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and intensify into a Depression in the evening of (7.5.2022), into a Cyclonic Storm in the evening of (8.5.2022). It is forecast continuous to move Northwestwards and reach to West Central Bay of Bengal (off north Andhra-Odisha coasts, India) at (10.5.2022). Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 07th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwdy Regions and Southern Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Bago Region and isolated in the remaining Regions and States.Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay,Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
