SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperatures in Eastern Shan, Chin and Kayah States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (42°C) each in Nyaung Oo, Kyaukse and Chauk, (41°C) each in Pakokku and Gangaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hmawbi (3.94) inches, Shwegyin (2.53) inches, Khayan (2.05) inches and Moekok (2.00) inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate in the Andaman Sea, South and East Central Bay and weather is partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 31st May, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Mon States, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Shan and Kayin States, isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
