SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Bago, Yangon Regions and Kayah State with isolated heavyfalls in Kayin and Mon States. Weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) below February average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, (2°C) below February average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Kayah States and (3°C) to (4°C) above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Southern Shan, Kayin States, (5°C) above February average temperatures in Bago Region and Mon State and (8°C) above February average temperature in Eastern Shan State and about February average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-1°C) in Hakha and (6°C) each in Putao, Kyaukmae, Tiddim, Pyinoolwin and Mogoke. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (11.54) inches in Chaungsone, (4.44) inches in Kyeikdon, (1.46) inches in Central Yangon, (1.38) inches in Paung, (1.02) inches in Thaton, (0.94) inch in Mudon and (0.86) inch in Khayan.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th February, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin States and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and (South and East) Shan and Rakhine States.
