SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Sagaing Region and Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Thaninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Rakhine State, scattered in Chin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.46) inches in Launglon, (2.76) inches in Kungyangon, (1.73) inches in Nyaungtone, (1.69) inches in Taungkok, (1.62) inches in Gyobingauk, (1.22) inches in Maubin and (1.03) inches in Okpho.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal now lies over Central Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the tropical s storm “Kompasu” over the Gulf of Tokin moved west wards and it is centered at about (80) nautical miles Northeast of Vinh, Vietnam. It is forecast continue to move west wards and cross Upper Vietnam coasts today evening.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th October, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7– 9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
