BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the North and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURE: According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the severe tropical storm "Kompasu" over the South China Sea has crossed to the Hainan Island moved to West-Northwestwards and weaken into tropical cyclone "Kompasu" and reached Gilf of Tokin. It is centered at about (100) nautical miles East-Southeast of Vinh, Vietnam and continue to move Westwards and forecast to cross upper Vietnam Coast in today evening.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 14th October, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Shan,Chin,Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw and Magway Region, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regionsand States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7– 9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
