SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan States, fairly widespread in (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing,Magway Regions.The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (8.50) inches in Launglon, (7.09) inches in Dawei, (4.57) inches in Labutta,(3.35) inches in Pathein, (2.79) inches in Naypyitaw(Dekkhinathiri), (2.56) inches in Kyeikkhame, (2.44) inches each in Kungyangon and Mudon, (2.17) inches in Taunggu(Avia), (2.13) inches in Paung and (2.09) inches in Kanbalu.

BAY INFERENCE:Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24thSeptember, 2021:Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Sagaing Region and Kachin State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and Stateswith likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts and about (6-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Moderate monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
