SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Rakhine State, scattered in Magway Region and Southern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay and Yangon Regions.The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (8.62) inches in Launglon, (4.41) inches in Dawei, (4.13) inches in Kyeikkhame, (3.97) inches in Saw, (3.66) inches in Kungyangon, (3.27) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (2.99) inches in Myeik, (2.28) inches in Chaungsone, (2.01) inches in Mawlaik and (1.85) inches in Kyaukhtu.

BAY INFERENCE:Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd September, 2021:Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 – 10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in the Central Myanmar areas.
