SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.62) inches in Hainggyigyun, (2.95) inches in Myeik, (2.83) inches in Putao, (2.52) inches in Coco Island, (2.20) inches in Myauk U, (1.97) inches in Kawkareik, (1.93) inches in Launglon, (1.90) inches in Paing Kyone, (1.81) inches each in Labutta and Dawei, (1.77) inches in Tamu and (1.73) inches each in Manaung and Shwekyin.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th June, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
