SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Yangon Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Chin State. The noteworthyamount of rainfall recorded were (5.39) inches in Thandwe, (4.57) inches in Gwa, (3.58) inches in Central Yangon, (3.47)inchesin Khayan, (3.43) inches in Paletwa, (2.95) inches in Hlegu, (2.87) inches in Manaung, (2.32) inches in Yangon(Kaba-Aye), (2.24) inches in Haingyigyun, (1.85) inches in Ann, (1.81) inches in Myaungmya, (1.77) inches in Bago and (1.73) inches in Taungkok.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th June, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about(9 -12)feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and (6-8)feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
