SUMMARY OF OBSERV5ATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into the whole country. weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Yangon Region and Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (7.48) inches in Yangon(Kaba-Aye), (6.73) inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), (5.20) inches in Hmawbi(Agro), (4.33) inches in Kyeikkhame, (4.06) inches in Hpa-an, (3.94) inches in Coco Island, (3.86) inches in Mudon, (3.81) inches in Shwegwin(Hlainbwe), (3.80) inches in Paing Kyone, (3.78)inches in Chaungsone and (3.70)inches in Kyeikmayaw.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 09th June, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8- 10) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon–Taninthayi Coasts and about (5- 7) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayin Regions and Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
