25-11-2024:According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over South Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards and further intensified into a Depression. It is centered at about 725 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 570 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai(India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Rakhine and Mon States, fairly widespread in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy fall in Rakhine State. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) below April average temperatures in Mandalay Region, Eastern Shan and Chin States and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (41°C) in Nyaunglaybin and (40°C) in Pathein. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Maungdaw (3.31) inches, Thaton (2.71) inches, Zaungtu (2.24) inches, Bawlakhae (1.73) inches, Hpa-an (1.65) inches, Pyay and Hpa-an (Agro) (1.50) inches each.

BAY INFERENCE:  Weather is partly cloudy in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 25th April, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Ayeyarwady Region, Kachin, Shan and Kayin States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30) to (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of rain or thundershowers in the Lower Myanmar areas.
