SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershower have been widespread in Kachin, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, isolated in Yangon, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above April average temperature in Kachin State, 2°C below April average temperatures in Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin State and 3°C below April average temperature in Kayah State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.4°C in Chauk, 40.3°C in Kawkareik, 39.6°C in Myinmu, 39.5°C in Taungdwingyi, 39.2°C in Sinbyugyun, 39.1°C in Zaung Tu, 39.0°C each in Tada U(Avia-Met), Taunggu, Nyaunglaybin and Tharrawady and 38.8°C in Magway on 20-4-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.57 inches in Kyeikkhame, 1.10 inches each in Paung and Chaungsone, 1.06 inches in Dawei, 0.43 inch in Mawlaik, 0.35 inch in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), 0.32 inch in Kawkareik and  0.24 inch each in Kawthaung and Thaton.

BAYINFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd April 2025: Rain or thundershower will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin, Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Rakhine, Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershower will be scattered to fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan States.
