SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, Rain or thundershower have been widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State, scattered in Bago, Taninthay Regions and Kayah, Chin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region. Day temperatures were 2°C below April average temperatures in Yangon, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Southern Shan States, 3°C below April average temperatures in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and 6°C below April average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.4°C in Chauk, 39.5°C each in Taunggu, Taungdwingyi, 39.3°C in Aunglan, 39.1°C in Kawkareik, 39.0°C each in Taunggu(Avia-Met), Magway, Sinbyugyun, 38.6°C in Zaung Tu, 38.4°C in Pyay and 38.2°C in Minbu on 16-4-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.24 inches in Tiddim, 1.65 inches in Kanbalu, 1.30 inches in Mawlaik, 1.14 inches in Madauk, 1.10 inches each in Hpa-an, Chaungsone, 1.02 inches in Thaton, 0.98 inch in Shwekyin and Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 0.83 inch in Monyin and 0.79 inches in Pyinmana (Walgyi).
BAYINFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th April 2025: Rain or thundershower will be isolated in Magway Region and Rakhine State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kayah, Chin States, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershower will be fairly widespread to widespread in Yangon, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
