SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Yangon Region and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 6°C above April average temperature in Kachin State, 3°C above April average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region, 2°C below April average temperatures in Kayah and Rakhine States, 3°C to 4°C below April average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaig Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.8°C in Kalewa, 40.5°C in Theinzayet, 40.0°C in Kawkareik, 39.3°C in Bago, 39.0°C each in Taunggu, Nyaunglaybin, Homalin and Belin, 38.8°C each in Tharrawady and Hpa-an (Agro) and 38.7°C in Chauk on 9-4-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.10 inches in Myeik, 0.79 inch in Yangon (Botahtaung), 0.47 inch in Yangon (Kaba-Aye), 0.39 inch each in Kawkareik and Kyeikkhame, 0.32 inch each in Kanbalu and Myitkyina and 0.20 inch each in Kawthaung and Monyin.
BAYINFERENE: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move nearly North-Northeastwards. Thereafter, it is likely to weaken gradually over the central Bay of Bengal during next 12 hrs. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 11th April 2025: Rain will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and scattered in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Chin, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershower fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
