17-12-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal has further intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is generally fair over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial India Ocean still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify during next 24 hrs. Thereafter, it is likely to reach over Southwest Bay of Bengal (off Sri Lanka - Tamil Nadu Coast, India) around 11-12-2024.
