17-12-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal has further intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is generally fair over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

            According to the observations at (17:30) hrs MST today, due to the remnants of the Typhoon “Yagi” over South Chin၀a Sea will move after crossing over the inland areas of  Vientnam druing and the Low Pressure Area over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls during from 8-9-2024 to 12-9-2024.

People should be awared the heavy rainfall with strong wind, the natural disasters such as flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and inland water transport and domestic flight.
