SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Kachin and Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine and Kayin States and isolated heavy falls in Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Belin (7.28)inches, Ann (4.14)inches, Hlaingbwe (3.94)inches, Taungkok (3.90)inches, Kawkayeit (3.35)inches, Khayan (2.44)inches, Gwa (2.40)inches, Maungdaw (2.17)inches, Myauk U (2.09)inches and Moemate (1.97)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 3rd August, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Shan, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of decrease of rain in the Rakhine Coasts.
