27-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 730 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 270 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1001 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, Kachin and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in  Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. Day temperatures were about May average temperature in the whole country. The significant day temperatures were (39°C) in Myingyan. The observed highest Ultra Violet indexes were Naypyitaw (9.4), Yangon (2.9) and Mandalay (11+). The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Haingyikyun (10.12) inches, Hmawbi (3.35)inches, Yangon(Mingaladon) (2.99)inches, Yangon(Northern Dagon) (2.56)inches, Zalun (2.28)inches, Loikaw (1.81)inches, Pathein (1.77)inches, Mindat (1.69)inches, Chaungsone (1.65)inches, Kalaywa and Myaungmya (1.57)inches each, Shwebo and Sittwe (1.50)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman sea and Southeast Bay and weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 1st June, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions.
