Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”
According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 998 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 40 miles per hour.
It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” is coded as yellow stage.
Forecast
It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may cross North Tamil Nadu near Puducherry (India) around 30-11-2024.
Due to the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”, rain are likely to be isolated to scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States from tonight to 30-11-2024.
